Field Technician

Position Summary

The Field Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, as well as have the ability to service equipment discreetly in the customer's office. The duties will be performed with professionalism and respect for the customer's environment, while providing an excellent quality of work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide quality maintenance and repair of office equipment in a specific territory of assigned machines to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction and achievement of company requirements in call production, response time and parts management.
  • Properly maintain and inventory all parts and support equipment.
  • Call customer within an hour of receiving the service call.
  • Attempt to phone fix the call or provide the customer with an estimated time of arrival.
  • Record completed work and parts on his/her mobile device.
  • Explain repairs completed to the customer.
  • Keep current with new technology through manufactures classes and computer-based training.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability

Read, analyze, and interpret business, professional, technical, or governmental documents. Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the public.

Mathematical Ability

Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

Microsoft Office 365.

Certificates and Licenses

A+ Certification, Network + Certification and manufacture specific (e.g. Sharp, Toshiba, Xerox, HP, Lexmark etc.) certifications preferred but not required.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions and vibration.
